Douro river cruise from 26 April to 5 May 2024 - Day 5
On day 5 (30 April 2024), the Douro took us from Régua to Vega de Terrón in Spain.
Vega de Terrón is the last - easternmost - place that the MS Magellan heads for on the river cruise, because from here the Douro is no longer navigable or the route is blocked by a dam.
Even though there was no excursion on this day, it was still quite varied and interesting.
The bridges in Régua are well worth seeing and there were three locks, which lifted us up a total of around 81 metres:
* Bagaúste lock (approx. 27 metres)
* Valeira lock (approx. 32 metres)
* Pocinho lock (approx. 22 metres)
